K, the 2nd thread on this page is stickied and its called "The official introductions thread" so this belongs there :P . In the beginning of prophecies you will be set in a noob area with a bunch of other new people just to let you know. If you can't find anyone to help you, the beginning quests are very easy.

For professions

Warrior - Pretty easy to learn, basic melee/tank character
Monk - Healer class, always one or two wanted in groups
Ranger - Bows, pets, traps, not a hard class
Elementalist - Heavy dmg class
Necromancer - Minions, hexes, support class
Mesmer - Hardest class to start with, hexes, shutdown class

My IGN is Evil Penguin if you have any questions, although I might not be on too much

Don't let people telling you mesmer is the hardest class to play with deter you. What makes them seem difficult is the interaction of skills and knowing what skills your enemy has.

Playing as a mesmer when you start off will make you a much better player in the long run, as you actually need to pay attention to the skills your enemies are using and use your judgment to choose to shutdown the pesky monk, or the mean elementalist.

If you have any in game questions go ahead and PM me, I'll be free to help as soon as you get out of the newbie area as well.

IGN: Reality Syphon

Edit: Once (if) you get Nightfall, Factions and Eye of the North, Mesmers can get some pretty nasty single target damage going.

I would suggest keeping your mesmer, they make things A LOT easier later on in prophecies, they are a bit under powered early in the game but they are over powered later. (unless recent nerfs have changed that, I'm not on as much as I used to be)

One thing you might not realize just yet is that unless people have an open slot or kept a low level char back they might not beable to come help you directly at first.

Prophicies begins in a training like zone for several quests, but after that you can move onto zones where everyone in the game can meet you.

Feel free to pm me in game with any questions.

Crom The Pale.

Ofcourse its ok

Note: if you put a players name in your friends list you can see if he/she is online even if they are playing a char of a different name, as long as its on the same account.
